Every species reacts to conditions in its own way. The same weather can switch one fish on and slow another down.

Which species does the forecast cover?
BiteRadar forecasts activity for 33 fish species. In Europe that includes pike, perch, zander, wels catfish, carp, grass carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, crucian carp, chub, ide, asp, barbel, eel, burbot, grayling, brown trout and rainbow trout. In North America it adds largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass, walleye, yellow perch, muskellunge, bluegill, black and white crappie, channel and blue catfish, brown bullhead and sturgeon. The app suggests species based on the region of your spot. See all species.
Is the forecast different for every species?
Yes. Each species has its own profile in the model, with a different optimal water temperature and a different response to light, time of day, pressure, wind and rain. That is why one species can show activity of 96 while another shows 68 in the same conditions.
Does BiteRadar use moon phases or solunar tables?
No. BiteRadar does not use moon phases or solunar tables. The forecast is calculated from weather data and water temperature for the selected spot, separately for each species.
Where does BiteRadar work?
Choose a spot through search, the map or your device location. The suggested species depend on the region of the spot, and forecast availability depends on the weather data for that location.
Does high forecast activity guarantee a bite?
No. The forecast is planning guidance. Habitat, stocking, fishing pressure, tackle and local conditions still change the result.
What is the best time to fish for pike?
There is no single best hour for every spot. In the BiteRadar model, pike are most active in water around 10–18 °C, and dawn and dusk are usually the best times. The hourly forecast shows the exact hours for your spot. Pike profile.
